History of Clint Williams and Company

Clint Williams was born on January 23, 1925. He was raised on a farm within 25 miles of his home and business headquarters in Madill Oklahoma. In 1946, after returning from overseas service in the U.S. Air Force, he married Bettye Lemmons and resided in Madill until his passing in December 1997 following a battle with cancer.

Clint's early adult life was spent in custom wheat harvesting, operating an independent trucking business, and working some twelve years as a sales representative for International Minerals & Chemicals Corp., a large national fertilizer company. During this time he was also involved in the commercial storage of Milo grain for the USDA Commodity Credit Corporation. In 1952 he established a retail feed and farm supply store in Madill which he operated for the next 22 years. In addition to these activities, Clint went into large scale farming in 1962, first with a farm north of Mannsville for several years, and later with a larger farm south of Madill which he operated under the "Texoma Farms" name until his death in 1997. Throughout this period of time (since 1949) he handled and stored peanuts each fall, both commercially and for the USDA/CCC government loan program.

Texoma Peanut Company was officially formed and incorporated in 1961 as a southern Oklahoma bulk peanut drying, handling, and storage operation-buying and storing peanuts for area shellers. In 1968 The Clint Williams Company was established and incorporated as a sheller and processor of peanuts for both seed and edible markets. Even though both companies have since been merged into one, the "Clint Williams Company" is the name known best in the domestic and international peanut industry, while the "Texoma Peanut Company"  name is still mainly used at home. In 1992 construction began on our "state of the art" Custom Processing facility and by the end of 1993 the plant was producing our own blanched peanuts (skins removed) as well as custom cleaning and blanching peanuts for other customers. A large part of the blanched product that we produce is for the export market. In 1998 our long established retail outlet "The Texoma Peanut Inn" began doing business online over the Internet. This is a small but very exciting part of our business where we sell a variety of peanut products, local products, and gift baskets for the Holidays or any occasion.

From our small beginning in 1968 the Clint Williams Company has grown to be recognized as an industry leader and pace-setter in product quality and service. We are one of the few independent, family-owned and operated companies remaining in the peanut processing business today. Our name has come to be known throughout the peanut industry for honesty and integrity in our business dealings, both domestically and abroad.

Today the Clint Williams Company is the only peanut processing company we know of in the world who offers all four genetic types of peanuts currently grown in the U.S., both as a processed raw shelled and a processed raw in-shell product. Our products are now being sold all across the U.S. and into a large number of foreign countries as well. Our handling and processing plants are designed for flexibility and for "quick change", when necessary, to take care of the changing or special needs of our customers. We feel that our exceptional workforce coupled with the continual upgrading of our plants and processing equipment each year, and our relentless obsession for product quality are the key reasons that the Clint Williams Company still remains in business today. The Clint Williams family, along with a core management team of seasoned professionals, now proudly carries on the business with a renewed sense of innovation and determination to succeed. Clint left us a legacy of success and goodwill....One which we intend to build on.
